The Jedi is a peacekeeping organization connected with the Force in the Star Wars universe. They represent the light side of the Force and reject the dark side and the Sith who are their mortal enemies and followers of the dark side.
The Jedi are known as the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. They are mystical wielders of the force and they use lightsabers to fight dark side. Most Jedi carries green or blue lightsabers while some Jedi masters have been known to have lightsabers with other colors. Aside from lightsabers, they are also identified with their long, brown robes.
For one to become a Jedi, one must have commitment and an intelligent mind. Those who were seen to be potential Jedi start their training in the Jedi Temple. They are expected to follow a strict Code that included positive concepts like patience and benevolence. Negative emotions which can lead a Jedi to the dark side were banned from the Jedi practice.
