Padme Amidala is a character in the Star Wars Universe who first appeared on Star Wars Episode 1 as the queen of the planet Naboo, she also represents her planet in the Galactic Senate. Amidala is the secret wife of Anakin Skywalker and the mother of both Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
Padme Amidala is a beautiful and graceful young woman who took her responsibilities as the queen of Naboo seriously despite her young age. Because of this responsibility, she has sacrificed her childhood and adolescence for public service. As a ruler and politician, she is very much opposed to corruption and is attached to the ideals of democracy.
She is perhaps most well-known from the elaborate costume that she wears in Episode 1. Many of the costumes that she wears were inspired by the historical royal fashion from different cultures. The famous red costume that she wears when addressing the Senate is based on Mongolian imperial fashion worn by the Grand Empress.
